Very nice recording for Feb '70.
The band is on fire from the opening of The Eleven. On its own, this Eleven isn't on the same level as the peak versions from 1969, but is steamy all the same. As the jumping off point for the Caution> NFA> Cumberlands, it sparkles. As does the whole segment. I love these jams during 68-71 where they are riding right on the edge, jumping in and out of themes with almost no searching between them. Its why when I looked and saw that Caution had only run
11:36 I went back for a relisten to make sure they had really packed all that music into such a small window. The NFA> Cumberland topper was just right. And the Uncle Johns might leave you with a big smile, some tears... or both.
